Alex Steele is a leading international expert in change management and a professional jazz musician. Alex performs as a jazz pianist at venues and festivals across the world, with a wide range of international musicians. In parallel, he is well-known as a consultant, trainer, coach and business leader, in areas including change, innovation, creativity, leadership and corporate social responsibility.
Alex's formative years were in the private sector with Enviros and since the late 1990's, working as Project Director for a wide range of training and consultancy projects with the University of Gloucestershire, Director of Horizon South West, Chairman of the Gloucestershire Environmental Business Forum, and Sustainability Advisor to the economic development agency, Gloucestershire First, Alex's work has included consultancy, research and training for industry, business, and government agencies in the UK and internationally.
Alex Steele brings his two parallel career paths together to provide business audiences with a fascinating insight into the minds of improvising jazz musicians, exploring what we can all learn from jazz and improvisation, as individuals, teams and organisations.
During his interactive workshops, Alex plays the piano and is joined by other band members on instruments including saxophone, drums and double bass. The sessions provide musical demonstrations of how jazz musicians and groups do what they do. A series of ‘jazz techniques’ are demonstrated, which can be used and applied by the audience, to focus on real organisational and business development issues.
